COURSE OUTLINE
A) Basics of Pelvic Floor
Clinical Anatomy and Physiology of Pelvic floor -Different layers of Pelvic floor, Triangles of Perineum, Muscles, ligaments, fascia and other structures comprising the pelvic floor, Neuro- anatomy of Pelvic floor, Vascular supply and Lymphatic system
B) Pelvic floor Dysfunction (PFD)
Aetiology, Pathophysiology, Clinical manifestations of PFD and Categories of PFD.
C) Categories of PFD
Hypoactive PFD & Hyperactive PFD- Aetiology, Clinical features and Inco-ordinated PFD.
D) Assessment Skills:
Internal and External Pelvic floor assessment- Manual muscle assessment, Pelvic clock assessment, Assessment scales-Oxford scale, ICS grading, Lamont & Pacik scale, Assessment tools-Perineometer, POP-Q stick.
E) Physiotherapy Treatment Techniques:
PFMT, Manual Techniques and Therapeutic Exercises, Soft tissue Mobilization techniques –Trigger point Release, Myo-fascial Release, Specific core Exercises, Self-MFR, Stretching, Integrating PF exercises with other exercises, Behavioral and Lifestyle Interventions ,Evidence-Based Practice and Recent updates in clinical Practice of Pelvic floor Physiotherapy.
