    BBA Retail Management in association with Maruti Suzuki

    GCU in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki India Limited is offering Bachelor of Business Administration programme in Retail Management. This undergraduate programme focuses on enabling students to acquire excellent technical and soft skills in automobile retail industry. The principle objective of commencing this programme is to enter into an industry-academia partnership, which will assist and guide for On-The-Job (OJT) Training, Knowledge Transfer, Learning and Skill building of the selected students. The purpose is also to facilitate and create a pool of qualified job ready resources, who will meet the industry specific requirements of automobile retail sales professionals.

    The curriculum of this programme covers not only the basics of business management but also the full spectrum of business processes involved in the automobile retail field.

    Entry Requirements

    Pass in 10+2 / Equivalent with minimum of five subjects.

    To pursue an undergraduate degree like BBA in Retail Management, candidates must meet certain criteria. Firstly, they must have completed their 10th and 12th from a recognized board of education, including state board/CBSE/ICSE. This ensures that the candidate has completed their basic education and has the necessary knowledge to pursue higher studies.

    Secondly, the candidate must have scored at least 50% in their 12th standard to be eligible for admission. This is a minimum requirement set by most universities and colleges offering undergraduate degrees. It indicates that the candidate has a certain level of academic ability and is capable of handling the course curriculum.

    How do I enrol for a programme of my choice at GCU?

    The admission process is based on the courses offered at the UG and PG level. The student goes online, fills the application with required details and files the same online for registering for the programme of choice. This will be accompanied by paying a registration fee as mentioned in the application form. However, if the student needs any clarification, be it regarding the programme of choice or GCU as a University, entry criteria etc, the counsellors at the University are just a call away. Once the registration process is completed, the admissions department shall communicate on further documents required and fee to be paid for the programme of choice. Post the above process the student shall submit their original certificate to the registrar’s office for validation and verification. Once this process is completed the student gets enroled and an ID card is issued to the student. (Hostel formalities and transportation facilities are addressed in this page) After enrolment the student shall voluntarily apply for GCU’s talent test which shall be the criteria for availing scholarship for the first year of study. Such talent test shall be conducted year on year to encourage studious students and also set the criteria for a UG student to be the most favoured student of choice for PG programmes.     Does the University have hostel facility?

    The University runs its own hostels for boys and girls separately. The hostels are in the vicinity of the campus with automated entry and further secure measures. More details on the hostel, fees and terms and conditions may be availed from the admissions office.

The alumni association comprises of senior executives who work with the industry and provide further opportunities to students who study at the University. The University hosts a National meet in the month of June every year and International alumni meet at Dubai, France, Maldives, London and Singapore (International alumni meets are conducted based on the availability and time factor of the alumni present in these countries).

The purpose is also to facilitate and create a pool of qualified job ready resources, who will meet the industry specific requirements of automobile retail sales professionals.

    The curriculum of this programme covers not only the basics of business management but also the full spectrum of business processes involved in the automobile retail field. The students pursuing this programme will go through an entire year of classroom training to learn the basics first, followed by an On-The-Job (OJT) Training at Maruti Suzuki showrooms.

    To explain this further, in the first-year, students will attend Class Room Training (CRT). In the second and the third year, students will attend 5 days of OJT per week (Monday to Friday) at Maruti Suzuki Dealership in Bangalore and 1 day (Saturday) CRT at Garden City University campus. The students will have an opportunity to ‘Earn while Learn’ and get a stipend for 24 months starting with approx. Rs. 8000/- per month in the 2nd year, and approx. Rs. 9000/- per month in the 3rd year plus additional benefits as applicable.
