The Earth beneath us may appear still, but deep below the surface, powerful geological forces are constantly at work. Earthquakes are among the most dramatic reminders that our planet is dynamic, restless and ever-changing.
As part of the IGNITE – GCU Expert Talk Series, Garden City University invites students, researchers, faculty members and science enthusiasts to an engaging expert lecture on “The Rumbling Earth: India’s Seismic Wake-Up Call.”
The session will explore the science behind earthquakes, the geological forces that shape the Indian subcontinent, and the seismic vulnerabilities that India must confront. The talk will also provide an opportunity to understand how advances in earth sciences, seismic monitoring and scientific knowledge can help societies prepare for and respond to earthquake hazards.
