The School of Media Studies organised an academic visit to Bengaluru GAFX 2026 on 27 February 2026. Hosted by the Department of Electronics, IT & BT, Government of Karnataka in association with ABAI, the event is regarded as one of Asia’s premier platforms for Digital and Creative Arts.
Bengaluru GAFX 2026 brought together industry experts, leading production studios, technology innovators, academicians, and students to explore advancements in the AVGC-XR ecosystem. The programme featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, technical workshops, exhibitions, and networking sessions across Animation, Visual Effects (VFX), Gaming, Comics, Artificial Intelligence in content creation, and Extended Reality.
Students gained valuable exposure to emerging tools, industry workflows, and global production standards shaping contemporary media practices. The interactive sessions offered insights into portfolio development, entrepreneurship, and evolving career pathways in digital media and creative industries. Engaging directly with professionals enabled students to understand market expectations and skill requirements in a competitive landscape.
The visit served as a significant experiential learning opportunity, bridging academic training with real-world industry engagement. By participating in Bengaluru GAFX 2026, students enhanced their technical awareness, creative thinking, and professional preparedness.
