The Department of Hospitality and Catering Technology organized Kaffe Gardenia, a Students’ Entrepreneur Studio, on 12 February 2026 (Tuesday) at the Department Premises. The event was conducted as part of experiential learning to provide students with practical exposure to entrepreneurship and real-time business operations within a simulated food service environment.
Kaffe Gardenia offered students the opportunity to conceptualize, plan, prepare, market, and sell their own food products. They were actively involved in every stage of the process, including menu planning, food production, costing, pricing, product display, sales management, and customer interaction. The event showcased a diverse range of products such as sweet and savoury cookies, Cherry Valentino, Double Chocolate Crinkle, Butterscotch Brittle, assorted nuts, and an attractive selection of cakes including Kale Aloha Sunrise, Chocolate Chip Chaos, Blueberry Bliss, and Strawberry Sparkle.
The studio successfully created a real-time entrepreneurial platform where students demonstrated creativity, teamwork, leadership, communication skills, and business acumen. The live sales environment helped them understand market demand, customer preferences, and pricing strategies. The products received an excellent response from customers, and the feedback highlighted appreciation for the taste, quality, presentation, and professionalism displayed by the students.
The primary purpose of organizing Kaffe Gardenia was to provide practical exposure to entrepreneurship by allowing students to experience the complete cycle of food production and sales. The initiative aimed to develop managerial competencies, enhance teamwork, strengthen marketing and customer handling skills, and build financial awareness. Furthermore, the event encouraged innovation, confidence, and business-oriented thinking, effectively bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry practices.
