Garden City University observed Anti-Ragging Day on August 12, 2025, in fulfilment of the University Grants Commission’s mandate to promote awareness, safety, and dignity on campus. The event reinforced the institution’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and highlighted prevention and support mechanisms available to students.
The Guest of Honour, ACP Reena Suvarna N, presently serving as Assistant Commissioner of Police for the Whitefield subdivision in Bengaluru, addressed the assembly with authority and compassion. In her address, she outlined specific sections of law under which ragging is punishable, shared case studies from recent enforcement, and urged both seniors and juniors to act as guardians of peer respect. She stressed the importance of early reporting, counselling, and institutional accountability in eliminating ragging culture.
The program also featured presentations by faculty and student representatives, underscoring the importance of vigilance, reporting mechanisms, and the collective responsibility to maintain a ragging-free campus. The event concluded with an affirmation of Garden City University’s commitment to upholding dignity, safety, and student welfare.
