The School of Media Studies, Garden City University, organized a memorable educational visit to Community Radio 90.8 FM Radio Siddhartha – Voice of Tumkur. A total of 33 students and 2 faculty members, Prof. Manasa Gowda and Prof. Kaushik, accompanied the team during this enriching experience.
During the visit, our students actively engaged in the station’s activities and produced multiple radio programs, showcasing their creativity, communication skills, and passion for community broadcasting. The session provided them with first-hand exposure to the functioning of community radio as a powerful medium for local voices and cultural exchange.
The recorded programs by Garden City University students will be telecast next week on Radio Siddhartha 90.8 FM, enabling the Tumkur community to connect with the fresh perspectives and talent of our young media learners.
This visit not only strengthened academic–industry linkages but also gave students an invaluable platform to understand the role of community media in driving social awareness and cultural dialogue.
