The Department of Psychology, Garden City University, organized a workshop on “Rehabilitation Psychology in Practice: Understanding the Field and Its Future” on 30 June 2026. The session was conducted by Ms. Alphonsa Joseph, a registered RCI licensed Practitioner and an experienced Rehabilitation Psychologist with over two decades of expertise in child and adolescent counselling, rehabilitation services, and inclusive interventions.
The workshop provided students with valuable insights into the scope and significance of rehabilitation psychology, with a focus on assessment and intervention strategies for developmental disorders, learning disabilities, and behavioural challenges. The resource person also shared her experiences in developing therapy programmes, promoting life skills among neurodiverse individuals, and empowering families through community-based initiatives.
The interactive session encouraged meaningful discussions on inclusive practices, emerging opportunities in rehabilitation psychology, and the evolving role of psychologists in fostering resilient communities. Both the UG and PG students of Psychology participated in the programme and appreciated the practical knowledge and professional insights shared during the session.
