As part of Garden City University’s weekly staff colloquium series, a thought-provoking session on “Fascinating Insights into Aviation” was delivered by Prof. Joffin Jose.
A passionate educator, entrepreneur, and filmmaker, Prof. Joffin has also worked as an assistant director on a few film projects. Alongside his creative pursuits, he specializes in aviation, bringing a unique and engaging perspective to the session.
Prof. Joffin introduced participants to tools like the Flight Radar app and AR-enabled cameras that allow live tracking of commercial, charter, and helicopter flights. He explained different aircraft models such as the Airbus A320 and A380, making their cost, endurance, and other features easy to understand through simple examples.
The session also covered topics such as aircraft registration codes, ceremonial water salutes, and the lifespan of aircraft. Highlighting Kempegowda International Airport’s Terminal 2, he spoke about the significant investment made to set up the facility, its growing passenger footfall, and its operational features including dual runways.
Looking ahead, he discussed future trends in aviation such as electric and hybrid aircraft, autonomous flights, and air taxis. The session was highly interactive, simplifying complex aviation concepts, and was very well-received by the participants.
