Garden City University – Career Guidance & Placement Office and IQAC present
Skill-Training Programme for V-Semester UG Students
27th & 28th October • OMR Campus
The Career Guidance & Placement Office, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Garden City University, is pleased to announce a two-day intensive Skill-Training Programme for all V-semester undergraduate students. The event is scheduled for 27th and 28th October at the OMR campus and is designed as a preparatory module ahead of the forthcoming Internship Drive.
Objective
The programme aims to equip students with essential corporate-ready skills — particularly focusing on personal presentation, interview readiness, and professional networking via LinkedIn — thereby enhancing their confidence and employability prior to the Internship Drive.
Highlights of the Programme
- Power of Dressing in Corporate Communication – led by Dr. Ishrat
An insightful session exploring how appropriate attire and body language amplify personal brand and professionalism in corporates. - Cracking Interview Etiquettes – delivered by Chef Vidya
A practical workshop that guides students on the do’s and don’ts of interviews, from greetings to follow-up etiquette, tailored for the corporate arena. - Importance of LinkedIn Profile Creation in the Corporate Sector – presented by Dr. Sudhagar
This session will help students build and optimise their LinkedIn profiles, understand networking strategies, and position themselves attractively to recruiters and industry professionals.
Why this matters
As GCU continues to emphasise “Quality First” through its IQAC framework — which promotes need-analysis, stakeholder engagement, continuous improvement and quality awareness across academic and administrative functions.
In line with this ethos, the Skill-Training Programme is a proactive measure to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations, facilitating a smoother transition into internships and future employment.
Who should attend
All students of V-semester undergraduate courses are expected to participate. Attendance is mandatory as the training is part of the preparatory activity for the Internship Drive, and will reinforce the placement office’s broader efforts.
We encourage students to come prepared with a notepad, their laptop/mobile device (for LinkedIn work), and business-casual attire.
