National Youth Day (Yuva Diwas or Swami Vivekananda Birthday) was celebrated at Garden City University on 12th of January 2024. Garden City University collaborated with the Association of Persons with Disability, Bangalore, in hosting a transformative workshop on ‘Become an Inclusion Champion’—a crucial initiative aligning with the spirit of National Youth Day 2024. The workshop comprises an enlightening awareness module named ‘Learn Empathy, not Sympathy’ (LENS) and an empowering action module called ‘Yes to Access’ (YTA).
The event was organized under Institution Innovation Council celebration days and it was organized by the School of Social Sciences in collaboration with the Association of Persons with Disability. An external speaker, Ms Devikala ML, Program Coordinator, APD was invited for the event. There was a poster display done by the Department of Hotel Management as well.
Key Outcome of the event:
Students were elevated concerning the importance and contribution of youth in nation-building. They were also enlightened on how to become an inclusion champion to embrace success in every realm of life. Students championed the cause of inclusion and were motivated to say ‘Yes to Access’ for a brighter, more harmonious future.
