On the occasion of World Physiotherapy Day, the Department of Physiotherapy, Garden City University successfully conducted a Free Physiotherapy Health Camp at GCU Physiocare on September 8, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The primary objective of the camp was to provide free physiotherapy consultations and treatment services to the general public while offering valuable clinical exposure to both undergraduate and postgraduate students under the guidance of experienced faculty. A total of 203 patients attended the camp and received personalized assessments and treatments for a variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal disorders, post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, geriatric conditions, and paediatric rehabilitation need. The camp also featured expert consultations by three orthopaedic doctors from Sparsh Hospital and two nutritionists from Akhilasoukhya, facilitating an integrated approach to patient care. Students actively participated in delivering electrotherapy, manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and lifestyle counselling, contributing to a comprehensive patient-centred experience. Notably, 47 patients opted for follow-up physiotherapy sessions, reflecting the success and positive impact of the camp. The event generated overwhelming appreciation from patients and attenders for its structured assessments, quality care, and professional approach. This initiative not only enhanced community awareness of physiotherapy’s vital role in rehabilitation, pain management, and preventive care but also provided hands-on learning opportunities for future healthcare professionals. Given the encouraging response, the Department of Physiotherapy plans to organize similar community health camps regularly as part of its continued commitment to promoting accessible healthcare services and quality education.
