The Industrial Visit – 2026 was organized by the School of Media Studies at Garden City University for the III and V Semester students of B.Sc. Visual Communication on 25th August 2026 at Raj TV and Karnataka TV. The visit provided students with an opportunity to gain practical exposure to the functioning of television broadcasting, digital journalism, content creation, media technology, and emerging trends in the contemporary media industry.
At Raj TV, students interacted with Mr. Chandhan Sharma, Group Head – Raj Network, Raj Music and Vistara News. He shared his professional experiences and insights into the evolving television industry. He also discussed the upcoming relaunch of Raj TV and introduced students to emerging developments such as AI avatars, AI anchors, and technology-driven approaches to television content and presentation. The interaction helped students understand how traditional television is adapting to technological advancements while continuing to focus on storytelling and audience engagement.
The students subsequently visited Karnataka TV, where they interacted with Mr. Shivu Besagarahalli, Founder – Karnataka TV Digital News Platform. He shared his experiences in digital journalism and explained the growing role of platforms such as YouTube and social media in news production, distribution, and audience engagement.
The industrial visit aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional media practices by familiarizing students with industry expectations, production processes, emerging technologies, and career opportunities.
The visit successfully enhanced students’ practical understanding of television and digital media and encouraged creativity, adaptability, technological awareness, and professional preparedness for the rapidly evolving media and communication industry.
