The Department of Life Science at Garden City University hosted a celebration of World Environment Day 2025, with focus on sustainable living and the importance of healthy practices rooted in traditional knowledge.
This event featured expert discussions on the significance of Ayurveda and environmental awareness. Dr. M.J. Prabhu, Guest of honour from the Karnataka State Medicinal Plant Authority (KaMPA), emphasized the medicinal value of Ashwagandha, particularly its roots, and explained how it’s natural elements can help strengthen the human body. He encouraged the audience to adopt nature-based and sustainable lifestyles.
Dr. Madhu delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating the enthusiastic participation of faculties and students. She also led a sapling distribution drive to promote reconnection with nature and to mark the occassion. In her address, she highlighted how ayurvedic herbs can enhance muscle strength and are beneficial for all age groups.
The event was organized in association with the Karnataka State Medicinal Plant Authority (KaMPA) and funded by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, and the National Medicinal Plant Board (NMPB), New Delhi.
