Data and its accumulation is infinite. It is available on the cloud, on servers, in data warehouses, on your personal computers and mobile devices. The importance of data is being understood ever so quickly. Regardless of its abundance and accessibility, there is a severe underutilization of it. Data requires segregation and analysis, so as to help engage hunches scientifically. The analytics process starts with data collection, in which data scientists identify the information they need for a particular analytics application and then work with data engineers and IT staffers to assemble it for use. Data from different source systems may need to be combined via data integration routines, transformed into a common format and loaded into an analytics system, like Hadoop cluster, NoSQL database or data warehouse. In other cases, the collection process may consist of pulling a relevant subset out of a stream of raw data that flows into, say, Hadoop and moving it to a separate partition in the system so it can be analyzed without affecting the overall data set. The objective of this programme is to provide the requisite theoretical & practical knowledge to students, enabling them to process and evaluate various data sets within information generating systems, thereby transforming students into professionals with a scientific disposition in the area of Business Analytics.
The core objective of the BBA with specialization in Business Analytics programme in association with IBM is to demonstrate the techniques and theories associated with various data sets and its analysis which include Statistics, Data Science, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Big Data Techniques, Data Warehousing and Data Visualization. The purpose of this programme is to inculcate within our students the ability to work with data in the most scientific manner possible. We have dedicated industry experts, with both practical knowledge and academic understanding, to deliver the program. Some of the sessions will also be delivered by IBM Subject Matter Experts as a part of regular program.
