The School of Media Studies, Garden City University, organized an Industrial Visit to Pixemo Studio on Friday, 13th February 2026, as part of its experiential learning initiative. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to professional product photography and studio production practices.
The session began with an orientation on studio operations, where students were introduced to lighting setups, camera equipment, background arrangements, and workflow management involved in commercial product shoots. Industry professionals explained how product photography is conceptualized, planned, and executed to meet branding and marketing objectives. Students gained insights into the importance of lighting angles, reflector placement, product positioning, and composition in creating impactful visuals.
A major highlight of the visit was a live product photoshoot demonstration. Students actively observed and assisted in adjusting lighting intensity, refining framing techniques, and understanding how minor modifications in camera settings significantly influence the final output. The demonstration emphasized precision, creativity, and technical expertise required in professional studio environments.
The studio team also provided an overview of post-production processes, including color correction, image retouching, and quality enhancement techniques. Students learned how editing software plays a crucial role in delivering professional-grade images that align with client expectations and brand identity.
The interactive session allowed students to engage with industry experts, seek clarifications, and gain a realistic understanding of studio workflows. Overall, the visit successfully bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry practice, enhancing students’ technical skills, creative confidence, and preparedness for careers in photography, advertising, media production, and visual communication.
