Master of Science in Fashion and Apparel Design


This Course Is Offered By The Regulating Authority Of Garden City Group Of Institutions And Follows The Guidelines As Opined By UGC.

Master of Science is a multi-faceted profession in which creative and technical solutions are applied within a structure to achieve advanced research and industry managerial environment. The program follows a systematic and coordinated methodology, including research, analysis and integration of knowledge into the creative process, whereby the needs and resources of the client are satisfied to fulfill the project goals. Training through an institution such as a college, art or design school or university is a more formal route to professional practice.

The program is being offered in other Universities in India and across the globe. Most of the post graduate programs in the State are training the students coming from apparel and fashion fields. Other post graduate program floated by some of the Universities is focused on Fashion Management Programs for all the graduates. Course Objectives:

  • To give an overview of the research methodology and explain the technique of defining a research problem
  • To explain the functions of the literature review in research.
  • To explain carrying out a literature search, its review, developing theoretical and conceptual frameworks and writing a review.
  • To explain various research designs and their characteristics.
  • To explain the details of sampling designs, and also different methods of data collections.
  • To explain the art of interpretation and the art of writing research reports.

This program is geared to help students gain in-depth knowledge about the world of fashion. Although design is the main focus, other areas are also studied. Students learn the creative process, cultural influences of design, production, marketing, communication, and more.
