"Media Studies Skill Show" As part of the Skill development initiative of Garden City University, students are provided with an opportunity to showcase their special discipline Skills to prepare them to participate in Skill competitions nationally and internationally, ... leading to enhancing the quality of the academic programme offered at GCU and better recognition of graduates of GCU. Skill development is important in education because it prepares students for the demands of the workforce, enhances their social and emotional well-being, and helps them become more well-rounded individuals.

Curated Media specific skills by the students of the School of Media Studies, Department of Media Studies, under the guidance of the faculty members, was displayed in the Media Skill Show conducted on 31st May 2023 in the GCU Auditorium from 1.30 PM to 4.00 PM. Mr Monu. N. C, Assistant Professor, Centre for Media Praxis evaluator for the skill show.

Students of II UG and II PG of the School of Media Studies showcased skills which are specific to the media industry. Abhishek, student from II UG showcased how an artist can use technology to create content through the skill of Digital Art, Ambika and Suruchi from II PG showcased the art of Foley in which they showed how music for animated movies are created by using simple household items and also showed us how the process of Dubbing happens. In today’s world every business requires a website to run its show, but being a layman, many might not the basics of website designing but Shreelakshmi from II UG showed the audience how AI helps us in creating a website in just 10 mins. Maaidha, Navami, Kuntala, Prashanth and Balaji showed the crowd how AI is facilitating in the data collection activity like Videography and Photography. Students of the department showcased 11 such skills which are very much trending in the field of Media.

"Engineering - Skill Show, A Skill development activity" Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam School of Engineering conducted a Skill show on 29th May 2023 from 11am to 1pm in Auditorium. The Show started with a preface of Technical/Engineering Skills and their impact of acquiring and enhancing.... All the students of II Semester/B.Tech were assembled in the auditorium and the near about thirty one participants started to demonstrate their skills one by one. Seventeen Skills such as Smart Home Automation, Game Development, Smoke Detection System, Smart Garden using IOT, Website Hacking, Finding Google Keywords, Simulation of Electrical Theorems, Launching Websites, Rectifier Design using Multisim Tool, ChatGPT, Implementation of HTTP and Virtual Lab were demonstrated by students as Presentations with implementations. Dr. Anuroopa, Head of the Department, Media graced her presence in the assessment of Skills demonstrated by the Students. "USR Activity-Trending Innovations in Management" A curated webinar was organised on 29 May 2023 on the topic “Trending Innovations in Business Management” to spread awareness among students, faculty from other institutions and industry persons. ... The webinar focused on select 20 trending innovations in the area of technology, communication, business model, business platform, and product innovation.
The was discussion on Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, and Extended Reality applications in today’s business. Examples of business model were also discussed such as Airbnb, Netflix, and Areto shoes. Few important innovations were Near Field Communication, UPI, ONDC, and Metaverse.
The webinar was hosted using Microsoft Teams platform at 10:00 am and it went up to 11:15am. There were 34 participants who attended the program and provided their feedback using a google form. The participants were given e-certificates for attending the webinar on this occasion.

"Language Skill Show" The School of the Indian and Foreign Languages conducted a Skill Show on 26th of May Friday. The event witnessed 13 participants from both UG as well as PG programmes of the SIFL department. The event featured various soft skills that are mandatory to learn in the modern world.... The motive was to encourage students to showcase their skillset along with the presentations on the importance of learning them. The department including faculty members and students put in efforts and it witnessed many marvellous skills. The speakers presented exceptionally well and made it a success.

Ms. Chayan Hirani started off with her presentation throwing light on a very sensitive language skill, the psycholinguistic skills. She spoke about the four basic skills - listening, reading, speaking and writing and how psycholinguistics helps to understand the difficulties and extrinsic challenges. Moreover, the presentation helped to gain insights on the topic.

This was followed by Ms. Diksha Prasad's presentation, which had a deep impact on the audience, as she threw light on ‘Nurturing Life using Soft Skills’. The tagline was “ Soft skills do not replace hard work".

Mr. Arpan Rana focused on linguistics and pointed out that language encompasses us but it's up to us to embrace it. He focussed on a similarity between language and inspiration and how inspiration is the only path to our life. "Be assertive, be successful" by Ms. June Ghosh was a topic which was praiseworthy. "To live a stress-free life, it is really important to be assertive, and by conquering the inner demons one should make his/her self-esteem high and confident”.

Mr. Mahesh Loni presented an important speech on effective communication and learning by quoting Sir Jean Paul Sartre.

"The Art of Poetry is the uttermost layer of creativity " - Miss Manasi Inamdar had a great way to explain the above line and with her words and her creativity she aced the presentation by saying poetry is a major part of literature and it benefits us to present our emotions uniquely and rhythmically.

Ms. Chera Sanga spoke about the importance of bilingual knowledge of language as she focussed on the doorway to wisdom. Mr Govind Madhav highlighted the importance of teamwork and how effective it becomes in a group when all the individuals struggle to work.

"Leadership - A combination of strategy and character’ was the thought that Ms. Piuli Sarkar conveyed. She emphasized the importance of a leader and how effective communication, and listening are interrelated.

Ms. Nanma Matthews gave a brief yet accurate description of Language Acquisition and how it enables people to articulate things, ideas, and attitudes in an intelligible form and to transmit the results of other people.

Ms. Rahelle Manoj on the other hand went to a literal contradictory view and spoke about world literature and literary criticism and portrayed the advantages of studying literature and understanding it in a critical way.

Ms. Keerthi Reddy spoke about language disorder difficulty through speech, writing, and gesture.

The show ended with the words of Miss Ramya D, who shared a very important lesson about time management and a few tips on how to go about with the same.

"Computer Science - Skill Show, A Skill development activity" Curated CS & IT specific skills by the students of the school of Computational Sciences and Information Technology, Department of Computer Science, under the guidance of the faculty members, was displayed in the Computer Science Skill Show conducted on 26 May 2023... in the GCU Auditorium from 1.30 PM to 4.00 PM. Dr. Baby Niviya Feston, HOD, Department of Management Studies was the chief guest and evaluator for the skill show.
Students of various programmes in the Department of Computer Science participated in 15 different events. The event started with the welcome speech of K Mercy Shyamala. A centralised app that allows students to connect and a room allotment app which significantly reduces the clashes between schedules was introduced by S Jai Selvash and Aanch Sharma. Shaping the future of humanity using AI was well presented by J.Meghana. Chatbox using sockets programming was demonstrated by Gokul Patcha and Mahesh. A glimpse of AI and ML in the human life was enacted by Preetham and his team. Attendance using python face detection which captured everyone attraction was introduced and demonstrated in live by Madhava, Jayanth. A quiz was conducted for the audience on the concept of identifying the language and it was hosted by Harsh Maheshwari.
Scan the network and showing vulnerabilities, and how the system gets hacked was exhibited by Prashanth B T, Ankit Tiwari. A role play on misuses of technology was done by Sahil V Namsekar and team. Well defined information about DOS attack was effectively presented by Affan Syed. Consequences of online betting was an excellent acting by Bhavika Chandnani and team which was enacted as a mime. Everything to know about a computer and technology up to date was well explained by N Maheen Fathima. How social media impact on young teenagers was well performed as a skit by Rashmi.R. and team. A new era of digital world: blockchain was an effective presentation by Afros Rezaur Rahman. Interesting and informative facts about C programming language was shared by Damini. The entire event was hosted confidently by Bojamma and Malavika. The background technical support was given by Jeevan and team. The event ended with the vote of thanks of Aanch Sharma. "11th International Conference and Literature Festival" The School of Indian and Foreign Languages, Department of English, Garden City University hosted the 11th International Conference and Literature Festival on “Power, Memory, Time and Culture: The Paradigm Shift in Literature and Linguistics”... and Y20 India Talk Series by PM-YUVA Authors on 18th-19th May 2023. A host of national and international delegates shared their knowledge with the students of GCU on various topics pertaining to the conference. The conference and literature festival witnessed a special interactive session by Mr Jason Jakson, Councillor, London Islington Council who spoke on the Role of language in developing positive mental health, moderated by Mr Christo Joseph, FRSA, Director Strategy and Planning, Garden City University . The conference was a platform for national and international academicians, students, research scholars who presented their research papers on various sub-themes of the conference. Day 2 of the 11th International Conference and Literature Festival saw numerous panel discussions on topics like, “Plot, Characterisation and World Building in Historical Fiction”, “Publishing Fiction- getting your foot in the door” and “Adaptations of Literature on OTT” by PM-YUVA authors. "GCU Alumni Europe Chapter Inaugurated in London by Chancellor Dr. Joseph V. G." On April 22, 2023, the Garden City University (GCU) Alumni Europe Chapter was officially launched in London by Honourable Chancellor of the University, Dr. Joseph V. G. The event was attended by numerous alumni from London and parts of Europe.... The inauguration began with Dr. Joseph V G addressing the gathering, where he spoke about how his life’s focus was the students of Garden City Group of Institutions and shared his experiences throughout his journey. Following his speech, the alumni present at the event shared their thoughts about their time as students and how their experiences at GCU influenced their lives.

During the meet and greet session, the GCU Alumni Europe Chapter Logo was unveiled by the alumni members present at the event. The unveiling of the GCU Alumni Europe Chapter Logo added to the excitement of the event, further strengthening the alumni's connection with the university.

The meeting then proceeded with a meal and a networking session where the alumni caught up with each other's lives and shared memories of their campus days. The event also served as an excellent platform for professional networking, with many alumni offering support and assistance to each other's endeavors.

The inauguration of the GCU Alumni Europe Chapter in London was a significant event intended to bring together alumni from different parts of Europe. It served as an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with each other and their alma mater, building a solid community of GCU graduates in Europe.

"Dense Afforestation at Garden City University (New Campus, Hosakote)"The State Bank of India (SBI), under its CSR activity, in association with Hands on CSR NGO - that’s Eco Foundation, on Tuesday donated Rs. 48 lakh to Garden City University, Bengaluru, for plantation of 32,000 tree sapling.... A project to plant 32000 saplings (A mini-Forest) has been launched by Hands on CSR NGO - that’s Eco Foundation in collaboration with Garden City University and SBI. The project manager from Hands on CSR discussed the dense afforestation they have planned for the forest's overall expansion. The university students who had gathered were informed about the project's execution, the sort of plantation they had chosen for the general growth, and its future perspectives.

The event's goal was to inform the crowd about the value of trees in our lives and how they will be beneficial for the coming generations. This is a modest step in the direction of improving the atmosphere.

The crowd was made aware of how to slow down global warming and reduce the Carbon Dioxide (CO2) concentration in the Atmosphere and introduce more oxygen (O2), introducing the term dense afforestation which is beneficial for nature in lowering the temperature, making the soil nutritious, and supporting the wildlife area.

According to a SBI release, the MoU was signed between SBI, Garden City University and NGO that’s Eco Foundation for the above project.

The event was graced by Vice Chancellor of Garden City University Prof. G R Naik, CEO Lt. Gen. Ramesh Halgali, Dr. Lakshmikanth H. M., Vice President, Garden City Foundation and CGM of SBI, Nand Kishore and others.

"GCU CONF-2023" An international conference on ICE – Innovation, Clinical reasoning and Evidence Based Practice was held on 14th & 15th March 2023 organized by the School of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy, Garden City University, Bangalore.... GCU CONF-2023, the international conference of Physiotherapy aimed to bring together eminent physiotherapists, academicians, scientists, researchers, and research scholars of international repute. The preconference workshops were held on the topics- Exploring fundamentals in ICU, Shoulder MRI interpretation and Clinical reasoning and Research methods and Biostatistics for successful publication in Scopus/pub web/WoS and indexed journals. The total number of participants for the pre-conference workshops were 193 and on the 2nd day the conference had 241 participants who enthusiastically participated. The information delivered in the plenary session will be published in the form of a whitepaper, research papers received for the conference will be published in the ISSN Edited Book. The event had presentations delivered by researchers from the international community, including presentations from keynote speakers. This conference was beneficial to students and professionals who learnt current advancements from the best in the field. "Rethinking & Reviving" The School of Commerce and Management, Garden City University, Bangalore, organised an international conference on 13-14 March 2023 in collaboration with CINEC, Malabe, Sri Lanka, a MoU partner Institute for higher studies. ... The conference was based on the theme “Rethinking & Reviving”. The focus area of the conference was “Rethinking Commerce, Management, and Tourism- Post-Covid New Normal”.

The aim of the conference was to provide a platform for the students, researchers and academicians to share and discuss their experiences and research outputs in areas of Commerce, Business and Tourism. The conference was successful in attracting international Keynote speakers, panel members (From Sri Lanka, Indonesia and India), 83 paper presentation registrations from India and Sri Lanka.

The conference was addressed by the chief guest Dr. Kalpana Gopalan, Additional secretory, Karnataka Government and the keynote speaker Prof. (Dr.) Lalith Edirisinghe, Dean, Faculty of Management and Social Science, CINEC Campus, Sri Lanka. The two-day conference offered platform for sharing research output and presentations in seven technical session and three panel discussion. Best paper presentation was announced in each technical session. The selected article will be published in the department journal COMAPASS.

Gardenia 2K23 Garden City University hosted ‘Gardenia-2K23 – Metavasi then2now, the Biggest Youth Festival of India from 9th to 11th March 2023. The theme for Gardenia- Metavasi then2now represents today’s youth, the youth of the Metaverse who live and breathe technology,... who mix and match the physical space around you with their virtual world. 25 unique events themed on Virtual Reality, AI and latest technologies like VR CSI, Journey to the End of the World, Quizeeta, Metagroovers, Electric Heels to name a few were the main attractions of the fest. More than 160 unique institutions registered for competing in the events and more than 1500 students took part in these events which were spread over three days.

The evenings of all the three days were made special by in-house cultural programmes by the Gardenians like group dance, solo dance, band performances, instrumentals, and many more . On 9th March Indian Army Band, Pioneer Corps performed a special concert. On 10th March Bangalore based, India’s first Sufi Band A-Square Project performed contemporary songs in various languages which ensured that the crowd was mesmerized with music.

The Grand finale of Gardenia 2K23 was kickstarted with announcement of winners for all the 25 events who won trophies and cash prizes. The prizes were awarded to them by Dr Joseph V G, Chancellor Garden City University. The grand finale evening was made even grandeur by internationally acclaimed violinist and music composer, Grammy Award Winner Mr Manoj George’s performance. "13th International Women’s Day Celebration 2023" Garden City University celebrated the 13 th International Women’s Day on 9 th March 2023, focussing on the theme “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”. ... There was a row of Pre IWD events lined up from each department – Fireless cooking, celebrating women’s achievements, and reinforcing the commitment to name a few. These events started from 15th February 2023 and ended on 01 st March 2023. The focus of these events was to encourage the girl students and female faculty members to break the gender bias Each department showcased their events in the respective field of expertise and witnessed a good number of participants.

On International Women’s Day Celebration, 10 female leaders from various disciplines were invited after the scrutiny from the nominations. They were honoured by our Chancellor, His excellency Dr. Joseph V. G Garden City University and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Maldives in Bangalore. As a mark of respect there was a display of band performance by The Royal Pioneer Corps. The Department of Hospitality Management organized a high tea for esteemed awardees with their guests. The competition was conducted in English language. Knock-out round resulted in 4 teams being selected for Semi-finals and two teams qualified for Finals. Team Gen Z from the Department of Hospitality Management and Catering Technologies won the competition. Mr Vikram Sridhar, renowned Theatre Personality and Storyteller, organiser of Bangalore Literature Fest was the judge for the event. "Industrial Visit to KSNDMC" The School of Computational Sciences and IT, Department of Computer Science organized an industrial visit to KSNDMC – Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre was arranged to III Semester BSDC and III semester MSIT programme students on 29 November 2022. ... KSNDMC is pioneered in monitoring various disasters like drought, flood and earthquake. KSNMDC is a common platform for various response players in the area of natural disaster management. The centre provides real-time weather-related information, forecasts, early warning and advisories for management of natural disasters in the state. KSNDMC harnesses the power of ICT, including installation of various sensors to monitor natural hazards and provide scientific input for preparedness and management of disasters. In order to ensure high response times during natural disasters and proactively prepare its customers for them, KSNDMC automate its weather data collection methods and use database technology that supported quick analysis and generated reports and maps on time. The data collected will be shared with the different agencies, government and public of the state which will help in alerting them about disasters. KSNDMC had installed over 6,000 Telemetric Rain Gauges (TRGs) and more than 750 Telemetric Weather Stations (TWSs) to transmit data every 15 minutes (24x7x365).

Dr. Shivakumara Naiklal H S who is working as a scientific officer briefed about how KSNDMC disseminates information. They also demonstrated how automatic weather monitoring stations are installed, how data is captured and converted to information to monitor the wind speed, direction and temperature and used for weather forecasting. Information was also given on the applications like SIDILU, MEGHA SANDESH and VARUNA MITRA which uses the captured data, process and forecasts the same. This visit served as a bridge to build gap between theoretical understanding of sensor data analysis in deep learning with practical exposure. Students got an insight on how different disasters will be monitored and managed using various technologies. 43 students were taken for the visit accompanied by Ms.Reeja Jose and Ms.Swetha C V.

Students and faculty members could learn about well automated production and assembly lines, the application of computerized integrated manufacturing, computer aided quality control, computer controlled and self-automated robots.

The industrial visit helped us in understanding the various aspects of production and the operation of a company. It could best be deduced that the intelligent systems are expanding across the globe. "Garden City University Organizes Session on Combating Climate Change" Garden City University organised an informative session on the topic "Combating Climate Change" at the main auditorium in the Garden City University Campus, Bengaluru on Friday... The session was led by renowned bureaucrat and environmental activist Shri Harsha Vardhan Umre, IRS who provided a unique perspective to understanding our collective role in dealing with climate change and its consequences.

Mr Christo Joseph, FRSA - Director Strategy and Planning, Garden City University introduced the chief guest and spoke about the importance of discussions related to climate change in university spaces as the coming generations will face the consequences of actions taken today. He also emphasised on the need for increased efforts in education on the topic of climate change and introduced the honourable speaker to the audience.

The chief guest, Shri Harsha Vardhan Umre, Commissioner Customs and Indirect Tax, Govt. of India and Founder of Ahimsa Human Rights and Earth Rights NGO, addressed the gathering about the importance of sustainability and alternative perspectives towards fighting climate change. He started the discussion by interacting with the audience and raising a very thought provoking question, “Dear students how are you today? Are you all feeling fine? Now, if you had to ask the same question to Mother Earth, could you say Mother Earth is fine today?” Taking this discussion forward, Shri Harsh Vardhan reiterated to the students the need to take collective action at the local level to start making conscious choices when using plastic and other items that are dangerous to the environment and exploring alternate solutions such as glass bottles instead of plastic and bamboo toothbrushes instead of plastic ones. Shri. Harsh Vardhan also mentioned the positive green environment of Garden City University and appreciated the vision of the Honourable Chancellor of Garden City University Dr Joseph VG in building a beautiful green campus for the students to study. Adding to this, he saluted the participation of the students of Garden City University in the 1 million tree plantation drive that he initiated through Ahimsa on 5th June 2022.

The Government of India observes the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel as the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ (National Unity Day) on 31st October every year to foster and reinforce our dedication to preserve and strengthen the unity, integrity and security of the nation. Sardar Vallabhai Patel not only played a leading role in India’s freedom but also made unparalleled contributions to the merger of princely states and jagirs of various princely estates into the Union of India. "18th International Education Show- 19th – 22nd October 2022 Sharjah, UAE" Garden City University participated in the 18th International Education Show which was held from 19th – 22nd October 2022 at Sharjah Expo Centre, UAE.... The Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr Vandana Hedge and Co-ordinator School of Indian and Foreign Languages, Ms Sanchaiyata Majumdar represented GCU at the international expo gala for four days.

More than 50 world renowned universities and educational institutions showcased their programmes at the expo. Dr Joseph V. G. the Chancellor of Garden City University addressed young students at the global forum on Need for Quality Education. The expo witnessed an enthusiastic young crowd from over 300 schools in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. The students took part in various counselling sessions by GCU which included understanding their areas of interest, their placement expectations and many more. Their eagerness to study at GCU knew no bound, when students from 10th and 11th standard registered themselves for future admissions!

GCU being the centre of cultural conglomeration for students from 81 countries for last three decades was the obvious favourite of NRI students and UAE nationals. Garden City University organized the much anticipated annual Freshathon 2022 with the theme 'Run for your Health' on 24th of September 2022. Participants turned up in large numbers ...

as the whole event started in the early hours of the day with registration from 5.00 am onwards as spot registration was also opened to the runners who turned up ready to tackle the 3 km as well as 6 km course. The event witnessed registration from students outside Garden City University as well. Before the start of the run, a lively Zumba session was conducted by the students of the Department of Physiotherapy to warm up the participants.

The 6 km leg of Freshathon was flagged off first from the main gate of the Garden City University Campus at 6:30 am by Honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. G R Naik, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Vandana Hegde and CEO of Garden City University Lt. Gen. Ramesh Halgali. Likewise the 3 km run was flagged off at 6:45 am. Ten separate aid stations were set up at various locations along both the routes. First aid and refreshments were provided at each station as well as car and ambulance facilities for emergency purposes along the path.

The winner of the 6 km event was Vishal from the Department of Forensic Science who completed the course with a time of 27:21 minutes and Syed Aslam from the Department of Commerce claimed the top prize in the 3 km run finishing with a time of 13:24 minutes. The top 10 finishers were awarded with medals in both the categories. The students and faculty of the Department of Physiotherapy monitored the runners at the finish, after which refreshments were provided to all the participants at food court.

The programme included various activity based lectures by faculty members of Garden City University. The visiting students were acquainted with the ‘Taste of Karnataka’ through the luncheon served on plantain leaf which consisted of all popular cuisines of Karnataka. A fashion show was organized by the students of the Department of Fashion and Apparel Design of Garden City University showcasing Indian Attire of various states of India. A Bharatnatyam dance was performed by students of the host University to uphold the rich culture of Indian performing arts.

Special ‘Entrepreneurship Studio’ was set up by various departments of GCU to highlight the innovative and entrepreneurial skills of the students. Speaking on the ocassion, Mr Christo Joseph, FRSA, the Director- Strategy and Planning at GCU said that both India and Israel share many similarities with respect to honoring one’s culture and tradition. He further said GCU is open to students from Israel who wish to pursue their career with it. Speaking on the future scopes of association Mr Christo said that both GCU and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem can work together on student exchange programmes and other innovation-based skill development courses.

The event was filled with colourful dance performances and renditions as the NCC corps of Garden City University presented the guard of honour to the dignitaries. Hon. Chancellor Dr. Joseph V. G addressed the gathering and shared his pride in the growth of our nation and spoke about the importance of educational institutions in the story of the journey of India. “Educational institutions such as GCU seek to promote the core foundational value of our country which is to get the learned minds to work together with scientific temper to create a better nation and society. ಗಾರ್ಡನ್ ಸಿಟಿ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಎನ್ಸಿಸಿ ತಂಡದಿಂದ ಗಣ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಗೌರವ ರಕ್ಷೆ ಆ ಬಳಿಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ನೃತ್ಯ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಮೆರುಗನ್ನು ನೀಡಿತು. ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಕುಲಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಡಾ. ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ವಿ.ಜಿ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ‘ನಮ್ಮ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾರತದ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯ ಪಯಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ನಮ್ಮಂಥಹ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ದೇಶದ ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಮೌಲ್ಯವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತವೆ, ಒಂದು ಉತ್ತಮ ಸಮಾಜವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಲು ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಮನೋಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಬೆಳೆಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಸಂವಿಧಾನವನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ದಾರಿ ದೀಪವಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ನಮ್ಮ ಧರ್ಮ, ಜಾತಿ, ಭಾಷೆಯ ಭೇದವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸದೃಢ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಒಗ್ಗೂಡುವುದು ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಆದ್ಯತೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆ ಕುರಿತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಶ್ರೀಯುತರು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳೇ, ನೀವು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದ ಭರವಸೆ. ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ, ಕಲಿಯಿರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅನ್ವೇಷಿಸಿ. ಆ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ನಾವು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಸುಂದರ ಭಾರತವನ್ನು ರಚಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ’ ಎಂದು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ 75ನೇ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೋರಿದರು.

ಗಾರ್ಡನ್ ಸಿಟಿ ಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯಮೂರು ದಶಕಗಳಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾಲ ಭಾರತದ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದ್ದು, ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವು ವಿವಿಧ ಉದ್ಯಮ-ಕೇಂದ್ರಿತ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು ದೇಶದ ಪ್ರತಿ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು 81 ವಿದೇಶಗಳಿಂದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸಿದೆ. ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವು ಅಂತರರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸಹಯೋಗ ಮತ್ತು ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯತ್ತ ತನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು, ದೇಶದ 75 ನೇ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವನ್ನು ಅದ್ದೂರಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.

The Students of MSIT Programme were a part of the industrial visit. FANUC India Ltd is a pioneer in Computer Numeric Control technology since 1956. They specialize on four major areas-Factory Automation, Robots, Robo Machines and IOT. Mr.Muthukrishnan, Head, Academic Industry Relationship, Started the session with a detailed presentation on their products and services. He discussed the contributions that can be made by computer science students’ in the field of factory Automation and robotics. Moreover, the students could watch a live demonstration of the functioning of futuristically designed state -of- the-art equipment in the facility. Students and faculty members could learn about well automated production and assembly lines, the application of computerized integrated manufacturing, computer aided quality control, computer controlled and self-automated robots. The industrial visit helped us in understanding the various aspects of production and the operation of a company.It could best be deduced that the intelligent systems are expanding across the globe.Therefore it was a great approach to expose the students to this company so that they would gain experience and knowledge about the usage and application of artificial intelligent and other technological innovations in the real world. Garden City University students at Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL), Mysore - Our Forensic Science students along with faculty visited the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory, Mysore and the Karnataka Police Academy.... At the Karnataka Police Academy - they learnt brief aspects of police training from sub-inspector cadre to ACP cadre, followed by visiting various facilities for training of police officers and careers in the Police domain. They also got to understand how forensic science helps an investigation officer from case investigation to punishment for accused. At the Regional FSL they learnt from section heads and Senior Scientific Officers of forensic biology, forensic chemistry , toxicology and instrumentation. signed an MoU with Merck Innovation Lab at Bangalore on 8th August 2022. This lab is a part of Merck India, a leading science and technology company, headquartered in Darmstadt Germany. The MoU ceremony included an inaugural talk by the honourable Vice Chancellor of Garden City University, Prof. G.R. Naik who highlighted the importance of Research at Garden City University and the need for collaboration with International Life Science companies such as Merck India leading to the increased scientific temper among the young aspirants. Mr. Dhananjay Singh, Head - Science and Lab Solutions, India at Merck Life Science, shared his views on bridging the gap between academia and industry.

The primary aim of this collaboration is to inculcate the Industrial hands on-training sessions into the regular curriculum of MSc Biotechnology students to upgrade the practical skill component leading to better employability. “Garden City University hosts forum on Innovative Approaches in Computer Science” Commemorating the values of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and his vision of quality education across the country, Garden City University ... as a part of launching the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam School of Engineering, hosted a high level forum on framing innovative approaches in the discipline of Computer Science at the GCC House in Bengaluru on Friday. The event saw participation from leading industry experts and experienced academicians who discussed the importance of actualizing the current landscape of latest technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, Data Sciences, and evolving models for framing the curriculum based on the requirements of the industry.


In continuation with Garden City University’s mission of providing holistic education aimed at the future, the idea of bridging the gap between the industry and academia to facilitate employability and entrepreneurship for the students of the university was at the forefront of the discussion. The forum witnessed the exploration of many ideas such as enabling the students to harness the power of new age technologies at the university level and expediting their high performance in industry spaces with minimal on-site training. Facilitating technical education in areas such as Human Augmented Machine Learning, AI based approach to Simulation and Modelling, Intelligent Mechatronics etc., and all round skill development at the university spaces as provided by Garden City University were highlighted as the need of the hour to ensure employability at the highest level for graduates of today.
