The campaign…. will be held every weekend during the month of October, 2019 from 11:00 am to 06:00 pm in public locations including the metro stations, bus stations, railway stations, malls and other public places of east Bangalore where the volunteering students and faculty members will primarily assist people to get them connected with the service safely and help them with its use.
DigiLocker is Government of India’s authentic app for issuance and verification of documents & certificates in a digital way, thus eliminating the use of physical documents. With this application people would not have to carry their documents in original wherever they go. DigiLocker is an online service provided by the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), Government of India under its Digital India initiative.
DigiLocker provides an account in cloud to every Indian citizen to access authentic documents/certificates such as driving license, vehicle registration, and academic mark list in digital format from the original issuers of these certificates. It also provides 1GB storage space to each account to upload scanned copies of legacy documents. Users need to possess an Aadhar card to use DigiLocker. For sign-up, the Aadhar card number and the one-time password sent to the Aadhar-associated mobile number, need to be entered. For later log-ins, the user can set their own password or link the account to Facebook or Google logins.
Documents on DigiLocker is accepted by the RTO, Traffic Police, Railways, Airports, Universities, Passport Offices etc.
